Michael Matthews’ impressive background
spans over 40 years, and has taken him from Regent Hotels, Rosewood Hotels, to
St. Regis Hotels and Resorts. This experience allows him to apply all his skills and contacts
to develop a market position and protect the owner’s investment in the bricks
and mortar; coordinating and creating a marketing plan to include advertising, collateral
and public relations to realize the hotel’s objectives. In January 2004 Mr.
Matthews was named “Luxury Marketer of 2003” by Departures Magazine/American
Express.
Michael Matthews previously served as
Vice President of Marketing and Sales at Rosewood Hotels and Resorts. He was
an original member of Regent International Hotels, where he was Vice President
of Marketing and Sales Worldwide from 1979-1993. Mr. Matthews also served as
the Vice President for Asia and General Manager of the Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong.
and most recently served as Vice President of St. Regis Hotels and
Resorts.
